WHAT IS REIKI? …

Reiki is a complimentary therapy which can be used alongside, but not instead of, conventional Western Medicine.  Reiki is beneficial in promoting physical, emotional, mental, & spiritual wellbeing.

Reiki can help with a variety of issues including physical symptoms, physical pain, fibromyalgia, tension, grief, anxiety, stress, low self - esteem, low mood & sleep issues, which in turn promotes relaxation.

The word Reiki is pronounced 'Ray - Key'.  'Rei' means 'Universal', whilst 'Ki' means 'Life Force Energy'.

Reiki is a Japanese originating 'Holistic Therapy'.

Our bodies are comprised of energy.

Reiki is a type of spiritual healing in which the practitioner uses their hands to channel energy at a high frequency, into the body.   This helps balance the body's energy, aligning the seven main chakras, & clearing any blockages.  Which in turn, increases the recipients energy vibration.  Helping improve their overall health & wellbeing.

REIKI: A HOLISTIC THERAPY …

Holistic Therapies are treatments that treat the person as a whole, as opposed to treating one specific type of condition or illness.  They treat the mind, body, emotions, and spirit of a person.  Resulting in achieving balance and harmony in the well - being of a person.

Reiki works to the greatest and highest good, which may mean it targets emotional pain, stress, or anxiety for instance first,  that is resulting in physical symptoms, before treating the physical symptoms themselves, or vice versa..

Types of holistic therapies include:

·      Reiki

.      Osteopathy

.      Massage Therapy

·      Aromatherapy

·      Meditation

·      Reflexology

·      Tai Chi

·      Acupuncture

·      Homeopathy

The Auric Field Of The Body ...

Energy also continues around the exterior of the body, in what is known as the Auric Field.  Blockages can occur also within the auric field of the body, therefore making the person more susceptible to physical, emotional, or mental illness.    Reiki allows energy to flow freely throughout the body, & is powerful enough to clear energetic blockages in the seven main chakras of the body and in the person’s auric field.

Please note that I do not physically touch any parts of the body during Reiki treatments.  I hold my hands in various positions above, or either side of the body, channelling Reiki energy into the auric field and the seven main chakras.

Are Reiki Treatments Safe ? ...

Yes!!  Reiki treatments can safely be used alongside Western Conventional Medicine & all types of holistic therapies.  It is a gentle practice in which the Reiki Practitioner holds their hands in various positions above, or in front & behind the client's body.

My treatments do not involve touching the client's body physically.  Please note that Reiki is not a form of massage.  The person remains fully clothed throughout the treatment, removing only their watch, in which the quartz crystal can interfere with the flow of Reiki energy.

Reiki has no known side effects, but results in a state of deep relaxation, including reduction of stress.

Reiki cannot be used as a substitute for medical treatment.

I do not have the ability to diagnose medical conditions.  If you have any concerns or are worried about anything, please always consult your doctor or a medical professional prior to reiki treatment.

Please note Reiki cannot be regarded as a cure for any particular medical condition.  Reiki helps the body’s ability to heal alongside medical treatments, other therapies and treatments.

What Effects Does Reiki Treatment Have Upon The Person ? ...

During a Reiki treatment people often will find they drift into a sense of deep relaxation.

Some people feel a sense of warmth or cold or tingling in the regions of the body where the practitioners’ hands are nearest to.

Some people fall asleep during a session which is absolutely fine.  It does not stop Reiki from working upon the body.

Some people report vivid dreams during or after a Reiki session.

Reiki can result in crying or laughter which is normal and is a form of release.  So, if you do feel emotional, please do not be tempted to try and hold the tears back from flowing.

Some people see visions, such as colours, patterns or flowers.

Some people find memories arise during or after a session.

Some people might find their arms and legs jerk a little during a session.

All of these reactions are completely normal and show that Reiki is working, and doing its job, in terms of clearing blockages and releasing any negative energy or feelings of anger.

Reiki also helps us to develop a positive attitude to life, whilst allowing us to let go of any negative thoughts, negative emotions and beliefs.

Reiki can also allow greater receptivity to intuition and insight.

After Reiki many people feel very relaxed or at peace in themselves, and have a sense of well - being.

Is Reiki A Religion ? ...

No.  Reiki is not a religion, nor is it affiliated with any type of religion.  Reiki is regarded to be spiritual as opposed to religious.  No set of beliefs or belief systems are required, and whether or not you believe in Reiki, it will still work.

Please Remember, I Am Not The Healer.  Reiki Is The Healer ...

Scarlet Tiger Moth Sat Upon My Wrist. A Beautiful Sign Of “Transformation”

It is not me myself that does the healing.  It is Reiki that does the healing.  I am only a channel for Reiki healing !!

I was so amazed that this beautiful tiger moth decided to land and sit upon my wrist. She stayed with me for three hours. Whilst I sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine !! I will never forget this moment.

The History Of Reiki ...

Mikao Usui ...

Reiki is a holistic therapy, which was rediscovered by Mikao Usui in the 1920s, in Japan.

Mikao Usui was puzzled as to why he was unable to teach his students in the Christian Seminary, healing techniques.  He travelled to a Zen Buddhist Monastery, where the abbot advised him to meditate to enable him to find the answers he was seeking.

Mikao Usui climbed Mount Kurama where he fasted for 21 days & meditated in various regions upon the mountain, where he experienced a spiritual awakening.  A light struck him & the various healing symbols were revealed to him, which are today used in Reiki healing.

Despite feeling weak, after fasting, once this enlightenment  had taken place, Usui rushed down the mountain, eager to share what had happened with his friend, the abbot at the Monastery.  He injured his foot in the process, and bent down to hold his toe.  Upon doing so, Usui was astounded to find that the bleeding stopped immediately, & he no longer was in pain.  He was healed!!

Mikao Usui (15/08/1865 - 09/03/1926)

Usui was so ravenous that when he reached the bottom of the mountain, he approached an eating place.  The daughter of the food seller who approached Usui with his food had a very swollen face & it was apparent to him that she had been crying.  She was suffering very bad toothache, which her Dad did not have the finances to treat.  Dr Usui placed his hands upon her face.  The swelling immediately went down, and she was no longer in pain.

Dr Usui headed back to the Monastery to tell his good friend, the abbot of all the amazing things that had happened & all that he had experienced.  To find that the abbot had been taken to bed due to his arthritis being very bad.  Dr Usui placed his hands upon the abbot, and the pain immediately left him.

Dr Usui realised he had discovered the answers which he had been searching for.

Dr Usui travelled all over the world, treating many people who sought his help, far and wide.

Usui very sadly suffered a stroke in 1926 at the age of 62, from which he passed away.

Dr Chujiro Hayashi (15/09/1880 - 11/05/1940)

Dr Chujiro Hayashi ...

Dr Usui passed along his teachings to Chujiro Hayshi, a Japanese Naval Surgeon, who opened a Reiki clinic in Tokyo.

He taught several students Reiki, from many races.  Including Mrs Hawayo Takata.  Who brought Reiki to the West.

Mrs Hawayo Takata ...

Mrs Hawayo Takata, born in Hawaii brought Reiki to the West.  She was visiting relatives in Japan, where she became very ill, with abdominal pain, a lung condition and nervous breakdown.  After being admitted to hospital she was told she needed an operation.  However she sought healing elsewhere from Chujiro Hayashi, where four months later, she was healed.

Takata asked Hayashi please if he would teach her Reiki healing.  So that she could go on to help others, in the way that Reiki had helped her.

In 1937 she opened a Reiki clinic in Hawaii.  This was the first Reiki clinic in the West.  Takata travelled to various places in USA & Canada where she practiced Reiki.  She also became a Reiki Master in which she learnt how to teach Reiki.  She taught several students to Reiki Master level.
